10.30am weather forecast - Scunthorpe area bracing itself for worsening conditions and more snow
North Lincolnshire is bracing itself for heavy snow across the region which is forecast this afternoon (January 14, 2013).
The Met Office has forecast that light snow will start to fall in Scunthorpe at 12pm today and this will become heavy at 3pm.

This will continue right through until midnight, when it is expected to ease off to light snow again.

Council gritters were out in force last night gritting the roads from 6pm to 9pm and again, from 1am to 5am.
Councillor Nigel Sherwood, cabinet member for highways and neighbourhoods, said: "There are plans in place to send the gritters out again when it throughout the day.
"We are really geared up and fully prepared for the snow.
"The gritters will be ready to go out as and when they need to.
"The communities and parishes have community workers who do quite a bit of gritting.
"We always grit the main routes.
"We provided about two tonnes of salt to all the parishes and we have also provided extra salt bins.
"As an authority, we replenished all the salt for the parishes that needed and wanted it."
