100 potholes still to be repaired
NORTH Lincolnshire Council is still working through a backlog of potholes in the region's road following the ice and snow earlier this month.
More than 400 potholes have already been repaired across North Lincolnshire - meaning about 100 still need fixing.

BUSY: Workmen Jason Jermany (left) and John Mumby repair the pot holes on Scotter Road. So far 400 have been patched up by teams at a cost of £9,000.
Road maintenance chief Rob Beales said about £9,000 had already been spent on repairing North Lincolnshire's crumbling road network.
"We estimate three quarters of the reported potholes have been attended to but we are discovering more as we inspect the network across the borough," he said.
"We have attended to approximately 400 potholes to date and estimate this has cost approximately £9,000.
"This is significantly less than the £75 per pothole average as many are located on the same street and in close proximity to others.
"In Scunthorpe, Frodingham Road, Normanby Road and Scotter Road have been attended to.
"But it is not only the urban environment which is suffering. We have been out on many rural streets as well.
"I would ask residents continue to inform us of problem areas as soon as possible."
Most potholes are formed due to the weathering of the road surface.

“as already said, some of these 'repairs' are like speed-bumps, which means you swerve all over the road just to avoid them. also, as the edges are so prominent the bashing that the traffic will give them will soon start to break them up again. please, council, employ people who care about the quality of their workmanship, otherwise it's money wasted, as the job will simply need to be re-done. and please stop wasting money on re-surfacing(going off track a bit, i know. but we all know that it's only done to use up surplus funds.) , it does NOTHING for road quality.”

“i went past some council workers the other day on brumby wood lane at the back of the hospital, they were filling holes in and cars were driving straight over them as they wasnt putting anything round them to let the tarmac dry. total useless. no wonder all the roads around here are so bad to drive on.”
