Only 15 fearless ladies braved the wind and rain to play the August medal at Elsham – and scoring was not high in the poor conditions.

The best score of the day was Angela Powell's nett 73 to win the Bronze Division ahead of Dawn Blewitt with a nett 79.

The winner of the Silver Division was Marie Tansey with a nett 75 and second place was taken by Emma Rooke with a nett 77.

The seniors' match against Holme Hall was rained off after heavy rain and an honourable halve agreed. The ladies' friendly away against Market Rasen ended in a 4:2 defeat for Elsham.

President's Day was delayed due to the illness of President George Laverick, but a fully recovered president was able to preside over a men's Stableford competition and a mixed better ball competition.

Tom Pocklington won the Stableford competition with 39 points. Brett Lea finished second with 38 points and 20 on the back nine holes, beating Roger Holmes into third place.

Dudley Jones was nearest the pin on the ninth and John Cook nearest the pin in two shots on the 18th. Paul Simpson, Peter Boucher, Mark Hobbins and Ray Mumby all scored twos.

The winners of the mixed competition were husband and wife team Sandie and Grant Richards with 44 points, one ahead of vice-president Bob Andrews and Sue Booth.

As well as finishing first, Richards was nearest the pin on the ninth hole and Richard Hedley was nearest the pin in two shots on the 18th hole. There were no twos in the mixed competition.
