£20k cost of false alarm call-outs adds up for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service
FALSE alarms in North Lincolnshire cost Humberside Fire and Rescue Service more than £20,000 in 2012.
The fire service was called out to 602 false alarms throughout the year, 40 of which were malicious costing them £21,407 in total.

Attending false alarm call-outs proves costly to the fire service
The majority of false alarms are a result of faulty equipment or calls from people with good intentions.
And with each call-out costing £35.56 on average, due to crewing, fuel and vehicle maintenance, malicious calls have cost the fire service roughly £1,400.
