He shot a commendable 37 points in the regional final at Lincoln Golf Club, where he also won the longest drive prize.
Meanwhile, a delighted Andrew Maw shot a 82-16=66 to take the Hospital Cup.
In second place was Dave Watchman, with a 71-4=67, who took the best gross prize.
Nick Wynne and Peter Bilby also shot nett 67s and had to be separated on count-back.
Bank Holiday Monday saw the Open Mixed Greensomes take place in somewhat calmer weather.
And it was Holme Hall's Jackie and John Walker who took the honours, with 44 points, from Sandra Cole and John Drust, who were just one point behind.
A further shot back in third were Mr and Mrs Duggerly.
A good turnout of 148 men from 32 different clubs competed in an over-55s betterball stableford.
And there was little to separate the teams, with the first three places having to be decided on count-back as each team shot a nine-under par 45 points.
The winners were Trev Johnson (Holme Hall) and Stuart Johnson (Ashby Decoy), from J Lancaster (Pheonix Park) and L Atkins (Crook Hill), with Tony Mitchell and David Sowerby, both Holme Hall, third.
Colin Robinson, playing for Holme Hall's B team at Ashby Decoy, hit a hole in one at the 16th.
Using a six iron, this was Robinson's first hole in one.
And finally, Jack Woodrow has won the much coveted Roger Bickley Trophy for juniors.
The juniors have played in six rounds over the summer holidays, with their four best rounds to count. And with a four-under aggregate of 280 Woodrow took the title.
