30k boost today for Scunthorpe rugby and cricket ground
A £30,000 boost is being delivered today (Monday Jan 14) to one of the best-known sports venues in Scunthorpe and district.
A presentation of the grant will be made at 9.30am at Heslam Park, off Ashby Road - the home of Scunthorpe Rugby Union Club and Scunthorpe Town Cricket Club.

The money comes from North Lincolnshire Council's Community Grant Fund.
Heslam Park has been awarded £30,000 towards the cost of building a new pavilion and changing rooms.

Four further Community Grant Fund cheques are about to be presented.
On Wednesday, January 23 at Belton Primary School the 1st Belton Guides and 1st Belton Brownies will receive £607.50 awards towards premises costs, while Belton Rainbows get £400 towards a Rainbow Birthday Party at The Deep in Hull.
On Thursday, February 7 at Kimberley Performing Arts School, South Leys Campus, Enderby Road, Scunthorpe, a grant of £500 will be awarded to Scunthorpe Museum Society Art Group towards the cost of an art education programme.
There are three strands to the council’s £500,000 Community Grant Fund - Grants to individuals, community revenue grants and community capital grants.
Community capital grants support community sport, arts and heritage projects with grants of up to £15,000 normally available.
Groups can apply for one grant of up to £30,000 in any five-year period if the total cost of the project is more than £60,000.
