90 violent crimes reported in a month in Scunthorpe
Violent crimes in Scunthorpe outranked all other categories reported in September, official police figures show.
However, there was a sizeable reduction in the total number of offences reported during the month when compared with August.
Crime figures for Scunthorpe and district during September have just been released into the public domain.
The police statistics given are for a one-mile radius of Laneham Street.

In all there were 427 crimes in Scunthorpe during September.
Violent crimes headed the list with 90 being recorded.
Next came incidents of anti-social behaviour 81, theft other than shoplifting 74, Criminal damage and arson 50, shoplifting 39, burglary 28, public order and
weapons 16, vehicle crime 14, drugs 13, and robbery 12 and "other crimes" 10 (fraud, forgery, miscellaneous offences).
The total number of crimes in Scunthorpe during September (427) is well down on August (470) when anti-social behaviour and violent crimes topped the list of categories.
There will be a police surgery held in Scunthorpe on Friday, November 2 which members of the public are welcome to attend.
It will be at 2pm in the main foyer of the Ironstone Medical Centre on West Street.
