AFTERNOON UPDATE: Car catches fire on A18 Mortal Ash Hill near Scunthorpe after hitting street light
Humberside Fire and Rescue crews and Humberside Police were called to a traffic accident near Scunthorpe last night involving two vehicles (Thursday, February 14).
Emergency services were called soon after 9.30pm to Mortal Ash Hill after a vehicle collided with a street light and caught fire.

Two men had freed themselves by the time the fire service arrived, and one was said to have left the area.
One man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the other car was given a precautionary check-up by a paramedic.
The incident was left with Humberside Police.
11am update: A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said officers had been called to the scene at 9.37pm by the fire service.
The two cars involved were a blue Peugeot 106 and a black Chevrolet Cruze.
Two people sustained what she described as minor injuries and the road was closed for a short time to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
2pm update: A North Lincolnshire Council spokesman said: "A road traffic incident occurred last night on Mortal Ash Hill at the Raventhorpe junction when a car hit one of our lamp-posts. The lamppost was knocked over. The road was closed for approximately two hours to enable the lamp-post to be removed. A police investigation is underway. At this point we do not believe the incident to be ice related.”
