SCUNTHORPE United boss Alan Knill believes a 2-1 victory at relegation rivals Crystal Palace will give his side renewed belief in the race for survival.

Goals from David Mirfin and Ramon Nunez edged the Iron in front at Selhurst Park, and though they endured a nervy finale, the visitors hung on to close the gap on the Eagles, and safety, to three points.

“Hedonist Puncture your comments are a little offensive if you don't mind me saying.Bury myself indeed, what literally?.Perhaps you could do with a puncture yourself one which might leave you feeling cold all over when the bubble finally bursts and your manager realises his glass ceiling at your club.He is only furthering his own ambitions and using your club as a stepping stone now that's tedious.Come on SKY BLUES give 'em pain on saturday.”

“Well done Alan Knill you have proved yourself an able manager in this league already although i don't want you to be too successful.Just lull the scunny supporters in to a false sense of security before the trap door opens, then your old team can hopefully achieve what you didn't think they were capable of doing or didn't have the stomach to see through to the end.I bet you are regretting not collecting Richie Barker as you left the prize jewels behind and now we will benefit hopefully from your mistake. He looks already a better manager than even you were when you first joined our club.”
