SCUNTHORPE United manager Ian Baraclough once again cursed individual errors as his side were brushed aside 5-1 by local rivals Hull City.

A Matty Fryatt hat-trick and two from Aaron Mclean ensured a comfortable victory for the Tigers at Glanford Park.

It is a result which heaps pressure on United, who are now seven points adrift of 21st placed Crystal Palace after their 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.

“Oi! Phil just look at the PL now with Blackpool. They are sinking quicker than a hull Trawler because after half a season in the top flight they have been sussed. Same thing happened with you. All Brown did was exacerbate it. As for attendance as the Iron fans tried to tell you all week (We tried because you obviously don't have libraries North of the water-as your cheering demonstrated) YOU ARE NOT A DERBY FOR US. If you want to look at % try looking at how full grounds are each week and you will see we actually have a decent percentage in terms of capacity full. Can you say the same? (Didn't check- Don't care)
    GIVE THEM A CLAP
Tiger Steve demonstrating some god awful Geography there people. Hull to Grimsby 33.3 miles. Hull to Scunthorpe 29.5 miles. That makes us A local derby FOR YOU. Scunny to the Codheads 27.4 miles making that our local derby.

Only difference on the day was the quality of finishing. (look at shots on and off) Difference is they took them. 2 weeks later when the new boys have settled score could well have been reversed.
Still think bara should stay as we have shown in the past what a stable manager can do. Query whether we would get a decent manager in (even if we break with form and sack him) when the squad of players can't change anyway but hey lots not look beyond our noses people.

Oh by the way Tigers-see you next year. In the meantime enjoy your sweet dreams cos you ain't getting there again.”

“1500 Club - you have not got a clue. When the Allams came in we were lower in league position than you were at the time. Now we are 16 points ahead of you. When you beat us at the KC you were 6 points ahead of us. In the 15 games we have made 22 points more than you.
As for being out of our depth in hte PL - err not a chance. In our 1st season we were excellent until Brown lost the plot. Until then we had been in excellent form and certainly did well. The only reason we came back down was due to incompetent management. We are now a much better run club and a much better managed side.
Barraclough is well out of his depth. Hs interview after the game was laughable.
Scunthorpe will go down quicker than a hookers knickers when the ships come in....
They will probably stay above Preston- but only because they have the incredibly inept Brown as their manager.
Wharton is treated badly by the people of Scunthorpe. If they cannot get together and muster more than 4,000 spectators for a local derby (less than 5% of the local population) then there is something seriously wrong. Nearly 2,500 empty seats! Not good enough.”

“You tried to be a feeder club (definition being 'a club you loan players from who dont sign' like Frazer Campbell) with Sunderland didnt you....more recently it was Liverpool but thats over since they didnt rate your treatment of that centreback who's gone to Derby?

With all due respect Hull - two months with a few quid and a 12th position in the NPC are hardly credentials on which to base how to run a football club...Bullard on a 2.5 year contract? 25k a week on Ashbee when injured? You are in a middleground really....average NPC sized club that looked way out of your depth in the PL.

At least we gave the NPC a go last season - more than City ever did in the PL.

    Up the Iron!”

“The way forward for scunthorpe,is to become the mighty hull city,s feeder club,as over the years any sign of a good player at your club, usually ends up in east yorks, john eyre, jamie forrester, andy dawson ect,we at the moment are a feeder club for man utd, with our warren joyce connections,we have 3 very good man utd reserves, maybe the way forward for you, scunny boys and girls ?”

“I think that you'll be waiting a long time for Grimsby to come back to league status. They are having to work to keep at mid-table in the Blue Square.
Yes we may be a good few points adrift, but have games in hand. If the chairman has the guts to get rid of the manager and put someone in place who can do the job then we can make good use of those games. With the current manager though, these games in hand are just defeats waiting to happen.”

“The town does not deserve a team in the championship. Less than 7,000 with the away allocation taken.
Can't wait for Grimsby to come back and overtake you losers and resume the proper Humber derby with the big clubs playing each other.
looks like Lincoln for your big derby in the future.”

    “Errors (plural) ?
Only one error as far as I'm concerned, and that is by the chairman and the board for not getting rid of the inept manager.”

“it's getting to be a scratchy record from Barra, "talking about ..x, y or z in the week" but come Saturday we're still getting tonked by all and sundry doing exactly x, y and z.
I'd give him until the end of February to show what he can do with the players he's brought in to make up for the debacle we had last summer, with other teams rejects supposed to make up for Williams, McCann, Sparrow, Hooper and Hayes, and now Wooly has gone too.”
