AUDIO: Scunthorpe United need to toughen up says bewildered boss Baraclough
SCUNTHORPE United manager Ian Baraclough they have to 'toughen up' when going a goal behind if they are to stand any chance of achieving Championship survival.
Goals from former Iron striker Billy Sharp, James Hayter and defender Joseph Mills saw United 3-0 down at half-time in their derby clash with Doncaster Rovers.

Ian Baraclough has plenty to ponder during another woeful Iron performance at Doncaster.
And Baraclough's side were unable to improve after the break as the home side cruised to an easy three points.

“I don't think Bara is flawless but bear in mind this is an inherited team he needs to be judged on his own team not Adkins/Crosby. See who he signs in January if he signs no one then fair enough, if he signs one or two give them time to settle and see what happens according to you lot we are down already so why worry. I'm not going tomorrow (due to a family christmas event) but I think all those people not going who criticise are disgraceful if you don't like whats happening at the club sign it to the board (not the players-SInging is what you hear at other grounds for those of you who have forgotten what it is). If you have a season ticket then go and do not face the pitch during the game to make your protest. Your obviously disgruntled so make signs aimed at the board voice your disapproval after the game but do it as a group or you sound like a crank. In short PUT UP or SHUT UP!”

“Never fear chaps - I have full faith in those intrepid bloodhounds at the ET as they sniff out the next major story at the Brownsword Stadium, such as how Trent McLenahan knows we must try a little bit harder, or how Sam Slocombe just can't understand how we're losing despite playing averagely. Once they've filed the stories about Mr Wharton's lack of interest in attracting new supporters and published the facts about the lack of FL grant for rebuilding the Donny Road end, that is. What say you Telegraph? Any interest in covering things we want to hear about?”

“U2 sang "Nothing changes on New Year's Day"...should be Scunny's anthem along with "We're on the road to nowhere" (well League 1). Fans now voting with their feet and we won't even sell out for a cup match against a Premier League team. It really is desperate at the minute. A clueless, inept manager, League 2 players and a Chairman who appears to be happy to watch the slide. I have my ticket for tomorrow, but I really don't why...come on Iron just give us SOMETHING to cheer!!!”

“Absolutely clueless Baraclough, looks like Mr Wharton is reaping what he sows, unless some miracle happens in the transfer window then this is the death knell for SUFC, you can tell the fans are totally fed up simply by how many went to see the iron today in a local derby! The players themselves have got to stand up and say are you actually good enough for the Championship? Seems one or three including Mr Forte do not need to stand up, we all know he/they are not good enough for this division, pace is one thing but actually finishing is another just ask Mr Sharp, he's very good at it.”
