Action needed to tackle serious housing crisis, says Scunthorpe MP Nic Dakin
Scunthorpe MP Nic Dakin wants there to be a wide range of affordable housing in the town.
That is why he supported an Opposition Day debate to take action over "soaring rents and rogue landlords" in the UK.
He says nearly 8.5 million people across the country rent privately, and it is vital there is a strong and thriving rented sector.
"I would like to see letting agents regulated and an end to confusing and inconsistent charges," says the MP.

"We currently face a serious housing crisis with homelessness and rough sleeping rising and it is vital that action is taken.
"Unfortunately, the Government has so far failed to listen to these concerns."
