Following a phenomenally successful 2012 Autumn tour, Britain's most irrepressible innkeeper will be serving up his premier brew of ale-inspired acumen and bar-room buffoonery as part of his hilarious new show.

This new, live stand-up show from the multi-award-winning comedian, directly follows the nationwide success of The Guv's twice extended Barrel of Fun tour, and is sure to sell-out fast.

Tickets for Al's Scunthorpe show can be purchased from the Baths Hall or the Plowright Theatre Box Office in Laneham Street, Scunthorpe, telephone 0844 8542776 or visit www.bathshall.co.uk

“@Heavenly Manna - any promotion is good promotion and the more the better - but you have to apply it to ALL events with the same vigour. Advertising and pushing ticket sales in the T & on the Radio for 2013 "big" comedy names late next year, may make the bank books look better and it may make the venue look like it's succeeding, but ignoring more immediate events and relying on posters, a website and a Facebook page will result in very poor attendances. 25% capacity is pretty appalling, but this could also be down to staging an event that possibly only 250 people would be interest in - it would have made more sense to stage it in the Plowright.”

“LOL I agree and believe that last one to be factually correct and a not inappropriate/unreasonable opinion to express. IMHO

HOWEVER! If that one escapes SMG/SCLP/NLC Labour group/local lefties blog police and is still up in an hour or so; I'll eat my hat!! But nice try @NormaBates ;)”

Sorry, but I don't find him funny.
And for that reason, I'm out!”

    “@TFiLive
I see where you are coming from? However surely it has to be in the interests of all concerned -none moreso than North Lincolnshire's tax payers - for the Baths Hall and its events to be promoted at every turn and given as much publicity as possible?

Particularly immediately following and in response to such performances as Saturday's Night at The Opera c/o of the excellent London Festival Opera; when the Hall was unbelievably and worrying less than 25% occupied, for such a high quality key note event!!? IMHO

Having said that, the economic downturn is clearly having an impact on Hull's Theatres as well:

Again I suggest more justification for why it has to be in all our interests to support & encourage the ST, SMG & NLC in their promotion efforts. Unless we want to see the Baths fail yet again?!! ;)”

“Has the Baths got an intravenous feed into the Telegraph or are you just firmly attached at the hips? .... because announcements fly out of there and onto the T pages faster than s**t out of a goose. What about asking the question of WHAT HAPPEN TO 2012? when it's been virtually shut since April .... oh sorry, that might constitute employing investigative reporting”
