Appeal after woman assaulted
A 22-YEAR-old woman sustained injuries to her face and head after she was assaulted in Scunthorpe.
Humberside Police are investigating the incident, which happened on Whitestone Road, Scunthorpe at 3am on Sunday, March 7.

Tony Parker a spokeswoman for the police said: "A 22-year-old woman was walking along Whitestone Road when she saw a group of girls sat close to the petrol station.
"The woman turned around and began to walk back towards her home address when she was approached by one of the girls who asked her for a cigarette.
"After the woman told her that she did not have any cigarettes it is alleged the girl began to get verbally abusive towards her and then is alleged to have assaulted the woman."
Her handbag - a black coloured shiny bag with a small sum of cash and keys inside - was stolen.
Police would ask anyone who may have information on the incident to contact Humberside Police on 0845 60 60 222 quoting BG/1740170/2010.

“It's almost worse that it's women too. They're just totally ferral. Sadly the hardworking, decent people who have been brought up with respect and morals seem to be getting outnumbered by these scummy chavs who were probably only born because their parents wanted more benefits. I sincerely hope these people are caught and punished.”

“hang the scum. I blame the parents and the justice system, welfare state and schools, too soft on youths these days. catch these scumbags and punish them properly, its terrible that a young woman cant walk the streets safely. what chance does a pensioner have?”
