Armed robbers target Owston Ferry Post Office

ARMED robbers threatened staff and stole cash during an early morning raid at Owston Ferry Post Office.

The incident is reported to have happened at around 9am this morning at the village's post office.

Two suspects are thought to have entered the premises and threatened staff, before leaving with cash and other items.

They then left the scene in a blue Vauxhall Zafira, registration Y211 KGU.

The vehicle was later found abandoned near a footpath at the back of St Martin's Church, Owston Ferry.

Nobody is thought to have been injured in the robbery.

Any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have seen the Zafira being abandoned is asked to contact Humberside Police on 0845 60 60 222, quoting log 126 of 16/03/10.
