Proctor had just flown in to the UK and headed straight for the Freddie Lindgren meeting where he spannered for Davey Watt.

He said: “David asked me and at first I presumed it would be a Friday so I turned it down, with being at Plymouth this year. Then I heard it was on a Sunday so of course I was fine to do it.

“It’s going to be good. I’ve ridden at Scunthorpe a few times, and I’ve moved my base up to Sheffield this year so it’s handy.

David particularly recalls one meeting with Ty: “When Ty rode for Redcar we had some great on track battles, he even wrecked a maximum for me once by passing me in heat 13 here at Scunny.”

Due to a requirement to be in Poland, Oliver Allen has had to regrettably withdraw from David’s meeting but this allows Scunthorpe’s Thomas Jorgensen to come in to the event.
