Scunthorpe United sign striker Lee Miller
STRIKER Lee Miller will go straight into Scunthorpe United's squad to face Preston tomorrow after signing on loan.
The 27-year-old arrives from Middlesbrough on a deal until the end of the season.

The Scotland international has struggled to make an impression at the Riverside and enjoyed a spell at Notts County earlier this term, where he scored twice in six games.
With a lack of goals being identified as the Iron's main problem in recent matches, manager Ian Baraclough will hope his latest addition can provide the solution.
However, Miller will not be able to play against his parent club when United travel to Boro on Tuesday night.

“Good points from both Dan and PDoff. Wharton got us into this position but as least SUFC are liquid (and will remain so), unlike many others.
Bara is a different kind of manager to Adkins. He therefore needs different types of players and it will take time to get them. He has started well with the recruitment of Reid (Mirfin gone in the summer, Jones 'rules himself out') and the experienced Hughes. A Wright is a new man since returning from Grimsby.
I suspect that Bara also won't make Adkins mistake of retaining players for the fear of not getting replacements (Morris, Byrne, Forte)
And SUFC have the habit of retaining managers so don't expect Wharton to respond to any crowd calls for Bara's blood.
Wharton has also seen the mistakes made by Adkins (big, awful signings and useless January loans) and won't repeat it. He will support Bara but only within his own terms of reference.
Staying in business, rather than staying in the NPC, is the key criterion.
We have badly missed a fully fit Thomo this season.”

“I believe you will find P.Doff that my pessimism was lessened when we showed an improvement in performances and got a result at home. The Codheads showed us if you don't get results on your home turf you get relegated and until we break that we are in danger. The Pre January squad I believe would have taken us down. The post January squad should keep us up. I think you may also have got this pessimism idea from the fact that I said that Bara should be given a chance even if we were relegated as he had to right wrongs made before he became manager (no matter who's fault it is)
I would also say that most people know that even the most optimistic can become pessimistic at times although I wouldn't expect you to know about that.”

“Please point out to me where I questionned Adkins ability P.Doff. I asked the question of had he run out of ideas after pulling rabbits out of the hat for example Jack Cork and Henri. Yes he would have cost a loan fee and wages but little else yet was one of the better players we have had in recent years. Is Dagnall and Grant et al close to that bracket?
Grip on reality? Do you really think Adkins was going to be at our club forever? He had earned his stripes and if it hadn't been the Saints it would have been Borough or the Foxes where he could find a new challenge and where they were looking for different rabbits.
As for Sammon you question it. I say to you purely how many times have we broken our transfer record in recent seasons or certainly been close to it.Then can you make that statement again with any certainty.
Anyone can see through the spin the club makes at it follows the same pattern by week and year but we are also able to see through the spin of certain individuals on here who criticise players they have never seen play or who argue with facts to make themselves feel special. You expect us to believe Hayes wanted to stay but I have seen no evidence for that either from you or any other poster- other than a statement of he wanted a longer contract than we wouldn't give him. That is not evidence can you name where you heard this or who you spoke to?
Thank you for trying to save my soul but I have the ability to make my own mind up. It comes hand in hand with intelligence that.”

“Lets have a look at your posts over the last few weeks with you having pessimism over the rest of our season. Then, we make a mediocre striker signing and suddenly the club are the best thing since sliced bread again.
Bara did inherit a weak squad, not made weak by Adkins but by Wharton. Adkins left here for lack of backing from Wharton, he could not wait to get out. Despite what we are told Hayes wanted to stay but wanted a three year deal. Wharton wanted the wage bill cutting. Hayes departure was the catalyst of Nigels.
So we lost the best manager we ever had and both halves of a successful strike partnership. Hooper went because of money (no problem with that) but Hayes should have been retained with view to building up another successful partnership.
But we ended up with poor replacements and Adkins was forced into force feeding us Forte. The rest is history. Don't be fooled by the Sammon red herring, this was a PR stunt to make you lower intelligence fans think that there is commitment.
There was zero intention of bringing him here and anyway he does not fit in with our style of play that we have unfortunately adopted (even when the pitch was playable).
So Dan, instead of listening to club spin you should listen to someone who does have a grip on reality and can see through what is presented to the masses. Not just me but there are plenty of people who comment on here who have it sussed but there are plenty who are happy to be duped, don't be one of them.”

“Ignore P.Doff he's yet another one of lifes little people who consistently drowns in the gene pool. Yet another positive step from Bara who is showing how weak the team was he was left. Shows that while Adkin's thought we had decent strikers etc that Bara knew better and is determined to do something about it. Had Nige run out of ideas at this club?(or maybe rabbits is more appropriate- I'm not criticising the job he did more the direction he had us going). Pleased to see Bara has put his own spine into the side and I think he should be judged on how this new team does before the call for his sacking is made again say two or three weeks down the road (after all no good manager will want to come after the transfer window closes)”

“''you do know people do hit the wrong keys when they are typing fast !!!) ''
First of all Simon Fox if you was typing fast how would you manage to put Atkins instead of Adkins? The 'T' and the 'D' are far apart.
Enough of that....
I am sure Miller will do well but Dagnall should not be starting with him. Forte or Grant for the flick ons.
Also why would we be happy anyway if Drogba signed? He is past it now.”
