An Epworth man has had an e-book published which he hopes will help lead to his dream of setting up a charity for natural disasters.

Bruce Riley, 53, lost his 4x4 independent service business in 2008 when it was destroyed in an accidental fire.

Following this, Mr Riley completed a 3,000-mile UK tour in a DIY Land Rover with his daughter Sarah in 2009.

They built the Land Rover from scratch using recycled parts from disused 4x4 models.

The trek helped raise funds to protect rare and endangered wildlife species.

Even at this point, Mr Riley had already had the idea to set up a charity and plans for the trek were conceived before the fire happened.

This idea is included in the biography that Mr Riley has written about the past four years.

He said: "It will detail different ways of raising money for disasters.

"The main thing about it is we do not take money from the public or the government.

"I am looking to target business people who can give even just a few pounds each.

"The majority of help to start with will go to natural disasters, but hopefully after a while it will go to people that have had small disasters. I am hoping that 98 per cent or more of the money will go directly to the people who need it."

The e-book is available online at sites including Tesco and Kindle.
