Brave Scunthorpe detective taking to the skies in charity fundraiser at Hibaldstow
A police officer from Scunthorpe is planning a triathlon with a difference - parachuting, cycling and running.
Det Con Kev Palmer will undertake a charity tandem sky dive, immediately followed by a 140-mile cycle ride from Hibaldstow to Newcastle over two-and-a-half days.
He will then compete in the Great North Run half-marathon to raise funds for the Stroke Association.
The detective has decided to take part in these events after a serving officer colleagues from Grimsby and Scunthorpe suffered stokes.

DC Palmer said: "I have decided to concentrate my charity raising efforts for this year by raising money for the Stroke Association’s campaign for 2013 where they encourage groups to try and raise £2013.
"I have personally been in touch with one of the victims and have told him what I intend to do. I want to raise awareness of the Stroke Association's fundraising initiative an to try and raise as much money as I can."
