Break fear for Wright
SCUNTHORPE United fear midfield man Josh Wright has broken a toe.
The 20-year-old player (inset) limped off in the second half of Wednesday night's 3-0 defeat at Newcastle.

Josh Wright.
"Josh is going to have an x-ray," confirmed manager Nigel Adkins.
If a break is confirmed that will rule the youngster out at a crucial time of the season for the Iron.
And if the break is a bad one, it could be the end of his season. That would be a huge blow to United.
The former Charlton youngster has done well for the Iron in the midfield anchor role this season.
He also helps them keep possession with a good range of passing.

“I find it very hard to believe that one of our players got a broken bone the other night at Newcastle because not one of them put in any challenges of real note as they let the Toon with acres of space to play the type of football they wanted to do. He must of done it at half time in the dressing room. In saying that,I would much rather have Wright in the team than McCant, although he very rarely pases the ball forward,it usually goes to a Scunny player.”

“Very harsh SCCI, as you make the point the lad is young and inexperienced this is his first lengthy run of first team football at a decent level. Potential is what he has and has shown. Not been the same since his return from injury but he will come again. Up to that point he was one of our most consistent players and arguably the best passer we have. I thought he might be lightweight in the middle but he can tackle as well and is more eager but less rash than some of the more experienced players.”

“Is going to have an x-ray? So he has not had one yet..... Why?? Are SUFC trying to save money by having him done on the NHS?????”

“Started the season very well, some good games. Looked tired and out of his depth lately.”
