Brian Laws praises Manchester City loanee Eirik Holmen Johansen on back of Scunthorpe United debut
MANAGER Brian Laws was pleased with the debut of Manchester City goalkeeper Eirik Holmen Johansen on Saturday.
The 20-year-old Norwegian has been brought in on loan from the Premier League champions while Sam Slocombe is sidelined by a torn thigh muscle.

Saturday's game with Coventry City was Johansen's league debut, though he has represented his country at Under-21 level.
And although he was beaten by a deflected strike and a second-half Leon Clarke header that won the game for the Sky Blues, otherwise his afternoon was pretty quiet.

“I was delighted with his performance,” said Laws.
“He was gutted because he wanted to keep a clean sheet, obviously, but I see good, positive signs.
“I think he’ll give us some strength at the back as well.
“What bits he had to do he did them cleanly, but he didn’t have a lot to do.”

“What have they been feeding this guy? He looks impressive and performed well.
Man City to Scunthorpe, horrible day, slippy ball and tough opposition but he looked comfortable. You couldn't fault him for the goals.
Well done young man.”
