Bridge builder joins battle over tolls
A MAN from Whitton who helped build the Humber Bridge has joined the campaign to see the tolls scrapped.
Brian Tighe (80), of Station Road, signed the Scunthorpe Telegraph petition because he said the tolls blocked people from using the bridge.

Mr Tighe was a works manager at the Redpath Dorman Long works in the 1970s and worked on steel panels for the bridge.
The panels were assembled on the north bank before being floated into place.
Mr Tighe said: "I would support the petition, yes.
"I would subscribe to the campaign to reduce if not abolish the tolls.
"They do impede the use of the bridge in my opinion.
Our sister papers in Hull and Grimsby have also been gathering support for the campaign which has now amassed more than 900 names.
