In Brief
NORTH Lincolnshire residents are being invited to give their views on a document that will help shape the region over the next 16 years.
A public consultation opened earlier this week where people can have their say on the final draft of the Core Strategy, the key document at the heart of the Local Development Framework (LDF).
The Core Strategy sets out the long-term spatial planning policies and guidance for the development of North Lincolnshire up to 2026.
It defines how much development will take place and where.
The council is giving people the chance to express their views on the "soundness" of the Core Strategy before it is sent to the Government for public independent examination.
The Core Strategy document can be viewed at Pittwood House in Scunthorpe, as well as at your nearest Local Link or library.
Forms are also available on the council website – www.northlincs.gov.uk – or from the Spatial Planning department.
Comments can be made online at www.nlincs-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal/ or you can send completed forms to Spatial Planning, Pittwood House, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, DN16 1AB, fax 01724 297886, or e-mail spatial.planning@northlincs.gov.uk
The consultation period will close at 5pm on Monday, July, 5.
Councillor Mick Grant, cabinet member for housing and strategic planning, said: "This is your last opportunity to make comments on this crucial document that will help shape North Lincolnshire over the next 16 years.
"The Core Strategy is an impressive body of work and explains our vision to make North Lincolnshire the Global Gateway for the north.
"It covers everything from creating more jobs and homes to improving transport links and revitalising town centres.
"I urge everyone interested in North Lincolnshire's future to read the document."
