Brigg Town 0 Northwich Victoria 3
Brigg made a strong start at home to Northwich Victoria but their defensive weaknesses were exposed as the visitors scored two quick goals and took control of the game, writes Bob Taylor.
The home side pressed forward from the start and, after a first-minute corner was headed clear, Liam Davis won the ball and struck a shot just over the bar.
Josh Davies missed the target from a free kick before Brigg had their best chance to open the scoring after 15 minutes. Liam Davis received the ball on the left wing but pulled his shot across the face of the goal.
Brigg followed up with a flowing move down the right wing, but the resultant cross into the box was headed away.

The visitors began to settle and won more and more of the ball. Liam Dodgson had a shot from the left wing blocked and Miles Fenty saved from Joe Guest.
Northwich took the lead after 26 minutes when the unmarked Michael Connor struck first time into the back of the net.
Brigg responded immediately but were unlucky when a shot from Stuart Preston hit the upright and bounced clear.
On the half hour, the visitors scored again when Connor timed his run at the edge of the area to go past Scott Hellewell, before hitting the back of the net with a firm drive.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first, with Brigg starting well but failing to gain any advantage from the few chances that came their way.
A free kick from Josh Davies from outside the area was blocked by the defensive wall, and Liam Davis curled a shot wide across the face of the goal.
After a neat build-up down the right wing, the ball was scrambled clear from the line.
Brigg were still well in the game until the visitors were gifted a third goal 12 minutes from time, when Alex Flett tried to play the ball back to his goalkeeper, only for Connor to nip in for his hat-trick.
After two poor displays in the past week, Brigg are on their travels again next Saturday when they face Market Drayton Town in Shropshire
