Brigg poppy tin stolen and only fourpence left inside to help the heroes

Heartless thieves in Brigg stole a poppy tin containing cash donated to the Royal British Legion which helps UK service personnel past and present.

Police today released CCTV images of people they are trying to locate following the theft of the tin from the Angel building, off Brigg Market Place, between 5.40pm on Thursday, November 8 and 9am on Friday, November 9.

Police say three men entered the building through a public entrance and walked upstairs towards a room where the poppy tin was situated.

They then returned downstairs before one of them went back upstairs alone.

Police say it was then the poppy tin was stolen.

It was later found in the Angel car park but the cash inside had been stolen, apart from 4p that remained inside.

It is not known how much money had been in the tin when it was stolen.

Anyone who can help police identify the people in these images is being asked to call them on 101, quoting crime reference 1941138.
