property: A Yorkshire house- builder is putting plans in place to open a site in East Yorkshire.

The director of Persimmon Homes says a strong performance from this region helped the business make an excellent start in the delivery of the company's new long-term strategic plan and there are plans to open another site in Hornsea.

Simon Usher said: "The performance of the team here in Yorkshire helped the group increase legal completions of new homes by 6 per cent to 9,903 at an average selling price of £175,640. Our revenues also increased by 12 per cent to £1.72bn compared with £1.54bn in 2011.

"This year looks like being even busier, with plans to open a further four sites in Easingwold, Hornsea, Retford and Thirsk.
