IF YOU'RE only as good as your last game, Scunthorpe United have a real challenge on their hands at Elland Road.

Leeds head into the Championship clash on the back of a 1-1 FA Cup draw at Arsenal.

It was a result Iron defender Cliff Byrne believes is the right kind of hangover from the Whites' promotion success of last season.

The Irishman knows his side need to rediscover some momentum of their own.

But with lots of experience when it comes to getting the better of high-flying teams, Byrne is confident they can do it again tomorrow.

"We've got no fear of Leeds and I don't believe we should," he said.

"We've competed well against teams away from home and the stats are there for that.

"Simon (Grayson, Leeds boss) has put together a fairly strong squad there. They've got a good infrastructure and set-up. It's all geared towards getting promotion.

"They seem to have settled in quite quickly, which is a credit to them.

"I think it's like that every year because of the momentum.

"You come in with a winning mentality from the previous season and winning is a habit.

"But we've competed against some of the best teams in the league this year and we'll be aiming to do it tomorrow.

"We've set very high standards and at times this year we've dipped below them.

"But we've played some games this year where we've not played quite so well and come away with the three points.

"It's not always about the performance, it's a results game.

"The better the performance, the better chance you have of getting the result, there's no doubt about that, but we need to start getting points on the board.

"We need to get a bit of a winning momentum again."
