CD reviews by Nick Cole - Gary Clark Jnr and Josh Groban
BLAK AND BLU” – GARY CLARK JNR (Warner Bros): This guy has got immense talent so no wonder the US president is among his biggest fans. Soul and swagger go hand in hand as the guitar maestro and slick vocalist makes easy work of the 14 tracks which are exceptional value for money. This debut album has to be a smash hit and deserves a wider aucience. Take a listen to Travis Count and Please Come Home and relish the sounds. 10/10.
ALL THAT ECHOES – JOSH GROBAN (Reprise Records): Groban is now in his second decade as a singer of class songs and he shows no signs of weakening. His sixth album has the usual Groban warmth and depth and is a credit to m uch sought after producer Rob Cavello. There’s a real feel-good factor about this 12 –track album and tracks like I Believe (When I fall in Love It Will Be Forever) are a joy to the listener. 9/10.
