Cable thefts result in loss of power in parts of North Lincolnshire
Homeowners have suffered a loss of power, after cable thieves struck over night
Seven separate thefts are believed to have taken place, mostly in the DN15 postcode area, with some in the DN18 and DN20 postcodes.
Northern Powergrid said that the thefts affected power to 391 properties, though more than 220 had been restored by this afternoon.
The firm said they are working throughout the day to restore electricity to any remaining customers.

The incidents took place in Alkborough, Barton-upon-Humber, West Halton, Barton upon Stather and Winterton. A substation in Worlaby was also targeted.
Mick Hickling, Head of Repairs at Northern Powergrid, said: “Once again, thieves have shown complete disregard for their own safety and the safety of the general public by interfering with our live equipment to steal cable with very little financial value.
“They are not only putting their own lives at risk, but also the lives of anyone else who may innocently come into contact with our equipment as a result of the damage they cause.
“Their actions also disrupt communities, leaving people without power, and I would stress that our engineers work extremely hard to get people’s supplies back on as quickly as possible.”
“We ask anyone who sees any suspicious activity close to power lines or substations to contact police or call Northern Powergrid on 0800 375 675.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log number 222 and 158.

“@dellboy1959
It's ok because the police are 'monitoring the situation, we can rest easy! I'm guessing caravan owners, they know they can do what they want without consequence.”

“Here we go again,Is this our tracky wearing friends again or maybe those nice peeps that own caravans and let's not rule out Eastern European (and future owners of Britain)
I thought measures were now in place to catch these idiots or is that just certain companies and this lot have lost the ball.”
