Calls for wider biomass survey
A CALL has been made for Eco2 to widen the independent survey of a proposed biomass plant for Brigg.
Eco2, developer behind the £80-million straw burning plant in Brigg, has appointed an independent consultant to interview residents on Scawby Road, Scawby Brook.

Residents are asked to give three main issues about the plant and to suggest possible solutions.
So far only 35 residents have had a one-to-one interview, despite letters going out to 120 households.
Coun Neil Poole said he welcomes power stations but thinks the interview selection is 'too narrow'.
Coun Poole said: "They should do sample interviews all around the neighbouring villages because the proposed lorries are also setting off from somewhere.
"But they are not being consulted by the company. The consultation is too narrow – what about the survey for villages where the straw is coming from?
Eco2 is currently working to update its plans at Brigg to reflect consultation with the Environment Agency on flood issues.
The developer hopes to submit a revised planning application for the plant early in 2009.

“It is important, that the surrounding villages know these straw lorries can drive directly through them if the originating straw field is within 10 miles of the plant. they will not be safe from the traffic.”
