The two cars involved were a blue Peugeot 106 and a black Chevrolet Cruze.

Two people sustained what she described as minor injuries and the road was closed for a short time to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

2pm update: A North Lincolnshire Council spokesman said: "A road traffic incident occurred last night on Mortal Ash Hill at the Raventhorpe junction when a car hit one of our lamp-posts. The lamppost was knocked over. The road was closed for approximately two hours to enable the lamp-post to be removed. A police investigation is underway. At this point we do not believe the incident to be ice related.”
