Car passenger in his 80s critical in hospital after being airlifted from Goxhill

An injured car passenger in his 80s had to be airlifted to hospital from Goxhill yesterday afternoon (Thursday Jan 31).

He was flown to Hull Royal Infirmary, where his condition today is described as critical.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision on College Road in the village, soon after 2.30pm yesterday.

It involved a red Renault Scenic and a black Mazda.

The injured pensioner was a passenger in the Renault.

The driver of this vehicle - a woman in her 50s - was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary by ambulance. She is expected to be released later today.

The driver of the Mazda was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

A baby - also travelling in the vehicle - was taken to the same hospital in Hull and remained there overnight for observation.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, particularly the driver of a heavy goods vehicle.

It is believed he may have information, but left the scene before the police arrived.
