Cash awards for community groups across the Scunthorpe area

Cash awards are to be presented to groups in Kirton, Winterton, Messingham and Scunthorpe in the near future by North Lincolnshire Council to help meet the cost of hiring premises.

Wednesday, January 30, Huntcliff School, Kirton: 1st Kirton Scout Group will receive an award of £2,389.50.

Wednesday, February 13, Winterton Infant School: 3rd Winterton Guides will be presented with £1,216.

Tuesday, February 26, Messingham Primary School: 2nd Messingham Brownies have been awarded £810.

Wednesday, February 27, St Hugh’s Church, Scunthorpe: 1st Old Brumby Brownies will receive £450.

There are three parts to the council’s £500,000 Community Grant Fund - grants to individuals, community revenue grants and community capital grants.

Community Capital Grants support community sport, arts and heritage projects with grants of up to £15,000 normally available.

Groups can apply for one grant of up to £30,000 in any five-year period if the total cost of the project is more than £60,000.
