Charge for speedway title "rained in" as Scunthorpe Scorpions see play-off opener cancelled
The Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions saw their opening Speedway Premier League play-Off group match at Edinburgh fell foul to the weather last night (Friday Sept 28).
It will be re-staged at Edinburgh next Friday (October 5th) at 7.30pm.

Last night's meeting was called off at around 6.50pm, after a final downpour left the Armadale track too wet to ride
So the clash between the Scorpions and the Monarchs at the Eddie Wright Raceway tomorrow (Sunday, 5pm) now becomes the Scorpions' opening fixture in the play-offs.

OLIVER GREENWOOD RUNNER-UP
Jotun Paints Scunthorpe Saints' Oliver Greenwood was a fine runner-up in the first ever Midland Development League Riders' Championship at Leicester last night (Friday).
Greenwood, 17, was joint top scorer in the heats, and then finished second behind namesake, Dan Greenwood, in the final.
Fellow Saints Max Clegg, Tommy Fenwick and Danny Phillips scored 7, 4 and 4 respectively.
