● Scunthorpe United fans have been invited to treat their mums to a slap-up meal at Glanford Park on Mothering Sunday, April 3.

The cost of a three-course meal from noon onwards is £17.95 per head and the package includes a gift for mum. The football club has asked fans to book their places by calling 01724 47684.

● Looking for the perfect gift for Mother’s Day?

Paul and Ann Gee, who run the Cottage Beck Snooker Club, Scunthorpe, believe they have the answer.

The ideal gift would be to book in mum at a £5 a time for a session in their doctor fish foot spa for a pedicure.

Bookings have to be made in advance and there is also a chance for mum to brush up on her snooker.

The White Horse at Brigg is offering mums a free meal on Mothering Sunday if they bring along three other members of the family.

That works out at £9 per head for a three-course meal.
