MICHAEL BUBLE CHRISTMAS – MICHAEL BUBLE (Reprise): The Canadian crooner is in tip-top form with this deluxe special edition of his best-selling album of Yuletide musts like Silent Night and Santa Baby. Michel B will take some topping from going straight to the top of the tree this Christmas. Rating: 10/10

THE SOUND OF MUSIC” – VARIOUS ARTISTS (Sony Music): London’s number one radio station Kiss celebrates its 22nd year in business with this cracking three-CD compilation of the year’s play-list by djs like Rickie, Melvin and Charlie. The Yuletide party will be in full swing with tracks from Little Mix, Misha B, Rihanna, Olly Murs and JLS and Plan B. There’s no less than 10 chart-toppers in this collection to please younger ears. 8/10.

BEE GEES MYTHOLOGY – BEE GEES (Reprise): This four-CD set is a Golden Jubilee salute to the surviving Bee Gee Barry Gibb and his late brother Robin, Maurice and Andy, Mythology contains some never-seen before family photographs and tributes from Brian Wilson, Graham Nash, Elton John and others. But more important is the timeless and magical music like How deep is your love and More than a woman. 8/10.

PERCY SLEDGE THE COLLECTION – PERCY SLEDGE (Rhino): A sheer master-class performance from one of the greatest –ever soul singers. This 22-track set is all music from his Atlantic days between 1966 and 1973 and taken from four previous gold-selling albums. When a Man Loves A Woman and Warm and Tender Love are the outstanding tracks – 10/10.

FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS – THE COLLECTION” – FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS (Rhino): In this writer’s view Hull-born Roland Gift was perhaps the best rock singer of his generation. Great to see The Cannibals rolling back the years with stompers like Johnny Come Home and She Drives Me Crazy. 9/10.

COMMUNARDS – THE COLLECTION – THE COMMUNARDS (Rhino): More magic from the 1980s with dance-filled hits like Never Can Say Godbye and Don’t Leave this Way. The Communards have also stood the test of time, 8/10.
