Spices like Ginger & Cumin can add a velvety tangy taste
to any winter warming meal you are preparing or thinking about making. Cumin of
course is a natural partner to Chilli, but have you thought about marrying it
with some Lemon Grass ?
Ginger, a natural strong flavour, freshly chopped or grated
added to a dish or even a salad dressing adds another dimension to your palette
experience. Also a good cold remedy ! Cuts right through your sinus problems.
Making a light stew is a flavoursome alternative to heavy
& stodgy one's. Think of Thai food & go from there. Sweet & Sour
dishes from the orient & South East Asia can be a mouth tantalising
experience. Using pure Chicken Stock or even a great Vegetable Stock leaving it
unthickened and letting all the other ingredients help flavour your dish. Don't
add Potatoes, they will cloud up the dish but to give you a different texture
& you want that crunch, add some oven baked croutons.
Adding vegetables like Carrots, Leeks & what is good at
the moment is Purple Sprouting Broccoli, these can add eye catching colour to
enhance your heart warming, sole nourishing dinner.
