However, environmental health staff are objecting to the proposal because of concerns about possible dust, noise and odour - the site being near to Tata steelworks and the Sauce Company.

CROWLE: Planning permission is being sought to build a convenience foodstore on land to the north of Johnsons Lane, near the Market Place. The 2873 sq ft store will be operated by the Lincolnshire Co-op, if the go-ahead is given. Main issues for councillors to consider include the design of the building and its impact on the historic environment of Crowle conservation area, and whether or not there is need for a convenience store in this location.

BONBY: Wilson Farms are asking for outline permission for a 500 cow dairy unit including the erection of four cattle buildings, a dairy/parlour building, a welfare/office building, two detached dwellings, a concrete yard for silage storage and straw storage, and a slurry/dirty water store, on land near Hall Farm, Middlegate Lane.

SCUNTHORPE: Permission is being sought to change the use of a warehouse to a gym, fight club and internet café, 142 to 144 Frodingham Road - formerly a disused warehouse. Issues to be considered by councillors will be alleged noise disturbance, the amenity of neighbours, and highway/parking issues. Councillors have been advised: "The site has been up and running for a considerable period now and has around 40 members per week visiting the gym."

Other applications of interest to be decided at tomorrow's committee meeting include:

WESTWOODSIDE: Permission to retain a change of use for the keeping of 30 dogs, The Willows, 9 Nethergate.

BARTON: Permission to erect two wind turbines (24.6m to hub and 34.2m to tip) and associated infrastructure, Barton Vale Farm, access road to Barton Vale.

SANDTOFT: Permission to erect a seven-bedroom chalet block, Reindeer Inn, Thorne Road.

BARTON: Permission to erect an extension to a shop, change the use of a dwelling into a shop and flat, and alter a dwelling to provide a dwelling and flat, 89 to 91 Fleetgate.

BARNETBY: Permission to erect a marquee up to 12 times a year to use for wedding receptions and functions, Rookery Farm, Railway Street.

EALAND: Permission to change the use of part of the existing touring site to a static caravan park, 7 Lakes Country Park, Wharf Road.

“Wasn't the old YEB site on Dudley Road featured in the Telegraphs 'Eyesore' story the other day?
Surely this brownfield site needs sorting out, as for the environmental health staff objecting to the proposal because of concerns about possible dust, noise and odour because the site is near to Tata steelworks and the Sauce factory - they should look across the road where hundred of houses are/have been built even closer to the steelworks on a greenfield site.”
