THE magic of the Cup will help brave Dylan Storey's dreams come true.

Five-year-old Dylan will lead out the Iron in their Carling Cup clash against Manchester United as an official mascot.

And Dylan and his family, who are striving to raise £50,000 to pay for pioneering surgery in America, will receive another boost after local estate agent Lawrence James announced it would auction off its executive box for the big game, donating the proceeds to the campaign.

Dylan's mum Fi Storey said the game, on September 22, would be a landmark event in the appeal designed at helping her son, who has cerebral palsy.

She said: "It's yet another example of how people have been unbelievably generous in coming forward to help Dylan.

"It means so much to us that people are doing things off their own back to help the campaign.

"We can't wait for the day now, it's going to be a real treat for him and along with the auction it's going to be a really good day for the campaign."

Liz Storey, Dylan's grandma, added: "It's going to be such a special day for Dylan and it's wonderful that so many people are coming forward to help him.

"We're so grateful to Lawrence James for what they're doing with the executive box, and obviously it's such a big event we're really excited about how it could help the campaign. The fact that Dylan will be a mascot is going to be a real treat for him."

She added: "He's loved coming to Glanford Park in the past and not many kids can say they've stood in the tunnel with the Manchester United team."

Dylan will appear along with the Iron in front of the Sky Sports cameras for the clash.

The auction for the 10-seater box closes at midnight on September 19.

“Man U are skint - hows about SUFC donating the 50k, it's not like they aren't rolling in it after selling everything and buying nothing...the Sky fee alone is 175k.

Fair play to the exec box auction by the supporters though - that's a great touch and fair play.

    Up the Iron!”

“Good Luck Dylan! wow how cool is that! Maybe if those rich Man U players all donated an hours worth of salarly the dream target would be met immediately!

Hopefully this will mean more people from outside the town here of Dylans Dream and it could become a reality alot sooner. Well done to everyone who has donated/organised/supported. Does anyone know what the current total is?”
