Decision imminent on Brigg gypsy/traveller caravan site 'of significant public interest'
A meeting in Scunthorpe tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept 19) will decide whether a caravan site in Brigg for gypsy/traveller families should be approved.
Planning permission is being sought to retain change of use of land off Mill Lane for the stationing of caravans, plus hard-standing, amenity blocks, fencing and landscaping.
The application relates to 12 plots for occupation by gypsy/traveller families.
North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee - made up of elected councillors from across the district - will consider whether to grant permission when it meets at Scunthorpe Civic Centre, off Ashby Road, from 2pm.

Brigg Town Council has lodged an objection to permission being granted for the caravans, and North Lincolnshire planners class this application as being of significant public interest.
It is also considered to be a major application.
Councillors are due to pay a look-see visit to 3 King Edward Street, Belton before tomorrow's meeting when they will decide whether to grant permission to change the use of a vacant shop unit to a hot food takeaway.
They will also consider plans to erect timber buildings for use as a boarding cattery at 80 Doncaster Road, Westwoodside.
