In their final over eight ends, the Scunthorpe four started well by producing some excellent bowls to lead by 3-0 shots after three ends.
However, their opponents from Doncaster soon slotted into their stride and after six ends had drawn level at three shots each.
With both teams playing quality bowls it was the Doncaster four who scored on the seventh end and went into the final end with an advantage.
Although the Scunthorpe rink tried extremely hard to produce a match-winning lie it was their opponents who played the last end well and had the good fortune to take the victory, 7-3.
Although disappointed, the Scunthorpe quartet have done extremely well to qualify for the final playing superbly well and they were certainly a credit to themselves and to Scunthorpe.
