Couple reunited with wedding photos after dog walkers find memory cards
DOG walkers have stumbled across a stash of wedding day images that a married couple had feared were lost.
A set of memory cards with more than 1,000 treasured images of the wedding vanished on the big day.
Earlier this week, Lucy and Graeme Boynton told the Telegraph they were desperate to get the pictures back.
But thanks to chance, they have now been reunited with their photos – after Peter and Dorothy Greenfield, of The Bridges, Barton-Upon-Humber, found them near the wedding venue at Reeds Hotel, Barton.
Lucy, 23, said: "It's fantastic – I cannot believe it. I had completely written off the chance of finding them.
"Without reading the story the couple wouldn't have known what they were.
"We can't wait to see the photos printed."
The dog walkers stumbled across the package on a dirt track just 15 minutes after the images went missing at the wedding. Mr Greenfield found them after taking his daughter's Jack Russell, Daisy, for a walk.
"We decided to take her for a walk down the lane at the side of the waste recycling centre because she doesn't like other dogs," he said.
"My wife looked down and saw what she thought was a mobile phone case. When we opened it we didn't recognise the memory cards."
Unfamiliar with the equipment, the Greenfield's returned home to show the items to their grandchildren at the weekend.
But on Thursday morning, when Mr Greenfield was reading the Telegraph, he came across the article appealing for help in finding the cards.
He said: "I realised it contained the missing wedding photographs and couldn't believe it.
"I rang the photographer straight away because it's something you cannot afford to lose – so I was delighted we could give them back."
The couple have now been given back the images ahead of their honeymoon to the Dominican Republic.
Groom Graeme, 27, of Willerby, Hull, said: "I know it wasn't the end of the world when they were misplaced but it's nice to be able to look back on our special day."
Andy Crozier, the wedding photographer and a friend of the couple, said: "It's a really wonderful story. Now the couple have more than 2,500 images to go through when they get back from honeymoon because a lot of the shots were retaken once we realised the cards were missing."
He said the Greenfields declined a cash reward, but Andy has offered to do them a piece of canvas artwork to say thank you.

“the reason there were over 2500 was because once we had realised the memory cards where missing the entire family sent their photos to the photographer in a desperate hope that there would be some decent photos to make an album out of, not that the photographer actually took 2500 images. Luckily, as they were found, we didnt need to go throught the 2500 photos.
we wouldnt even had time to have the bloody wedding if were stood taking 2500 photos, are you an idiot or something Robs, Goole?!”

“I think everyone is pleased for them but to take 2500 images during the course of a wedding must have made the day look like the filming of Wallace and Grommit.”

“2500 images. That might be a tad excessive? They are going to be one hell of a boring couple when family visit!”

“2500 images. That might be a tad excessive. They are going to be one hell of a boring couple when family visit. Surely the best 'reminder' of the big day will be waking up with your spouse?”
