DRAGONS' Den star Sharon Wright has scooped another accolade to her name after she landed herself a prestigious national award for her innovative invention – just weeks after floods almost destroyed her business.

The Scunthorpe entrepreneur has picked up a top electrical industry accolade in spite of almost losing orders running into millions of pounds after her offices were hit by flooding.

Sharon won The Electrical Industry Awards category for Innovative Residential/Domestic Product of the Year for her MagnaMole cable-threading invention.

The single mum shot to fame when she appeared on the television show, impressing industry tycoons, who all wanted to invest in her business.

Sharon, who is set to appear in a Children in Need Dragon's Den special, is overjoyed with the award.

She said: "I am loving what I am doing and this award has spurred me on even more. It's great to get such support for my product from top industry judges."

In July, the astute business woman walked away with £80,000 investment from James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne for 22.5 per cent of her MagnaMole business.

Just weeks ago, crucial documents from a recent 16-day trip to the US, where she had met with major potential investors were destroyed after heavy rain leaked through the roof of her rented offices.
