Easy-to-follow guide on how to start-up your own business
ESSENTIAL tips needed when starting up a business are included in an innovative booklet produced by a northern Lincolnshire accountancy firm.
The illustrated 16-page guide on entrepreneurship has been put together by RNS.
John Heeney, a partner from the Scunthorpe office and new associate partner Alex Douglas have been focusing on start-up businesses and were behind the easy-to-follow guide.
"We're really pleased with its look and feel," Mr Douglas said. "We wanted it to be different and easy to pick up and read".

"We hope the use of cartoons and humour engages potential entrepreneurs and effectively communicates key messages to those thinking about starting up their own business."
Mr Heeney said: "An entrepreneur is not necessarily a multi-millionaire running international businesses. They can be traders living down the street making their living from plumbing, child-minding, web design or a host of other things.
"But what they all need is the right financial and tax advice when they start a new business".
Mr Douglas said the booklet was much more than details about tax and book-keeping. It includes sections on selling, takings risks and some inspirational and funny business quotes.
"Becoming a successful entrepreneur is not only a rewarding and self-fulfilling experience, it's also great fun. The booklet reflects this side of business," he added.
The 30-year-old has always lived in Scunthorpe and joined RNS more than seven years ago after graduating from the University of Hull.
Previously, he went to John Leggott College. His interests include running – having completed several half marathons – football and cycling.
Mr Heeney said: "Alex is a local lad who has trained and qualified with RNS, and his addition to the partner team re-emphasises our commitment to investing in our staff to maintain the high level of service we provide to our clients."
