The Graves duo fought back but were unable to turn the tide and their opponents secured a 25-9 victory.

Mixed Pairs 2.30pm (Monday) Division One still has the Phil Boulton team topping the table, just one point clear of Mary Walls's team, while Alex Mullin's team have taken over third spot.

An interesting encounter took place between the pairs of Dennis Chambers and Bert Major.

The Chambers pair looked odds on to win the encounter with a 10-2 lead, but their opponents scored seven shots on the next end to close the gap.

Still, Chambers and his partner stood firm and eventually won 18-12.

It's all change in the Division Two table with the Ruby Heatley team having taken the lead by one point. Three sides (Chambers, Major and Neil Berry) are close behind, all on 12 points.

The teams of Les Adlard, Pat Whittingham and Julie Hargraves are all on 10 points in a very competitive division.

After an evenly-balanced first half, Heatley and partner managed to stave off a terrific effort by Mick Hare's team to win their game 18-9.

In Mixed Pairs 2.30pm (Friday) Division One, John Painter's team have taken over top spot, level on points with the team of Len Lammas.

The Dave Saxby duo are in third place, three points clear of the teams of Stan Shellard and Steve Blakey.

There was a dramatic second half to the game between the Saxby pair and David Gaymer's team.

Locked at 6-6 at the halfway stage, the Saxby pair applied enormous pressure to score nine shots over the next five ends and went on to win 16-9.

In Division Two, Rita Davey's team are now four points clear of Brian Bristow's team at the top.

Elaine Harrison and partner managed to hold off a late resurgence by John Cranidge's team after controlling the first half of their game.

The Cranidge duo fought hard and produced some excellent play, scoring six shots across the final two ends, but fell 14-12.

Pat Kelly's team are now four points clear at the top of the Ladies League, ahead of Meg Gall's side.

Barbara Sims's team looked in really good form in a match against Ann Major's side.

At 15-4 down, the Major team started to score shots but, playing opponents who were in such good form, this didn't last too long and they were eventually beaten 19-10.
