Sheridan will first appear on The Jonathan Ross Show Christmas Special, alongside Michael McIntyre, Jamie Oliver, Charlotte Church and Sienna Miller.

Sheridan told her followers on social network Twitter about the chat show.

She tweeted: "Recording Jonathan Ross tomorrow, don't think I've ever been this nervous. Watched it for years, never dreamt i'd be on it. I'm scared".

Sheridan will also be seen in a BBC1 adaptation of the children's book Mr Stink, alongside Hugh Bonneville, Jonny Vegas and Pudsey the dog, from Britain's Got Talent.

It also stars the book's author, David Walliams.

Her third and final appearance over Christmas will be in comedy-drama Panto!, alongside comedian John Bishop.

With Sheridan hoping to travel back to Epworth for Christmas, we asked her mum, Marilyn Smith, about her daughter's festive projects.

Marilyn said: "Sheridan has been working on so many projects, including Dustin Hoffman's film Quartet, which comes out in January.

"Dustin saw her in Flarepath in the West End and visited her in the dressing room afterwards to ask her about being in the film.

"She is very excited about it all and even got a good luck card from Dame Maggie Smith for appearing in Hedda Gabler.

"There is still a strong place in her heart for Epworth."
