AS WELL as hearing about the winners of each of the 12 Mail News & Media Business Awards, guests at last night's award ceremony were also treated to an exclusive announcement about next year's Yorkshire International Business Convention (YIBC).

The YIBC has grown to one of Europe's premier business conferences, with past speakers including former US President Bill Clinton, supermodel and businesswoman Elle MacPherson, Sir Bob Geldof and Brian Blessed.

Next year's event, which will take place at Bridlington Spa on Friday June 7, will feature speakers including wheelchair athlete David Weir, Professor Brian Cox – "the Brad Pitt of astrology" – and Sir Terry Leahy.

David Weir is perhaps best known for winning four gold medals at the London Paralympic games – an awe inspiring achievement that left him described as the best wheelchair athlete ever, with a motivational story well worth hearing.
