SCUNTHORPE United supporters can have their moment with the FA Cup when the famous football trophy visits the club on Monday.

Fans will be able to follow in the footsteps of Iron legends like Kevin Keegan and Ray Clemence by getting their hands on the famous trophy.

The Cup is visiting United's Glanford Park stadium as part of a nationwide tour, which also forms part of the build-up to United's fourth round home clash with Manchester City, on January 24.

Winterton Iron supporters' club chairman, Stuart Maw, said it was 'fantastic' that the Cup was coming to the area.

He said: "It is great for the town and it is absolutely marvellous that Scunthorpe hasn't been left out for once."

The trophy tour promises a 30-minute interactive experience, which brings the FA Cup's 129-year history to life.

United community trust chief executive, Lee Turnbull, said: "Hopefully, a lot of kids will have a lot of fun and it promotes the FA Cup, a competition which we pay the utmost respect to."

Schoolchildren are set to visit the tour from 11am, with the general public admitted between 3pm and 7pm.
