  • Great results
  • A record turnout of over 60 riders
  • The course record being broken
  • Dozens of personal bests
The continual rise of youth academy members up the ranks among the senior riders.

David Bolland has strengthened his grip on the title of highest placed youth with two more top 10 results, lowering his personal best (PB) for the event to 22:57 for the 9.7 mile TT.

Following closely behind is last year's youth course record-holder Simon Beedham, who has recovered well from a broken leg and is once again driving down his PB.

The youngest rider in the club time trial series at 12 years old, Christopher Durham gained his 4th PB in 5 starts, moving his benchmark to 26:21 and establishing himself firmly mid-table alongside many more experienced senior riders.

Jack Garner, who lost his sight in 2007, has recently returned from the Olympic velodrome with five medals in the Sainsbury's School games as well as making huge steps forward so far this year, knocking several minutes of his personal best for the club TT course.

Also performing well and further improving their times were youth riders Torin Cannings, Tom Yeates, Louise Beedham and Josh Jones.

Many of the youth academy riders are also participating in velodrome and circuit racing, as well as multi-sport events such as the Brigg Bomber Quadrathlon.

Louise and Christopher will be representing the club in the Eastern Region heat of the GHS National Time Trial Championships in July.

The Lincsquad Youth Academy promotes the uptake of multi-sport events by youths of all ages and works to develop skills, participation and performance.

Being part of the Lincsquad club it provides members with access to trained coaches covering, cycling, swimming, kayaking and running.

With more than 200 members they are among the largest multi-sport clubs in the country, collectively holding an enviable list of national and international titles.
