Scunthorpe United fans on Twitter are today wondering whether the Iron stand to get some cash from the transfer of Martyn Woolford.

The winger has moved during the transfer window from Bristol City to Millwall for what is described as an undisclosed fee.

Andrew Gravill (@andrewgravill) Tweeted this afternoon (Wed Jan 9): "Woolford has signed for Millwall. Now what I'm interested in, is what money #Scunthorpe receive from this transfer?"

Martin's signing for the London club has been welcomed but City fans seem sad to be losing him.

Fans at Millwall remember that very important play-off goal scored by Martyn for Scunthorpe against the Lions.

“I hope it's not a ruse to do him some damage. Never trust your local Millwall fan. They're so lucky to have Danny Baker in their ranks.

Ironite - hope you're not writing any papers up soon. 'There'll' not 'they'll', 'their' not 'there'. Imposter.”

“Probably why he stood for us in the first half 2010/11....we had a side full of headless chickens (Dagnall; Grant; Nolan; Josh Wright; Freddie Sears!!), Wooly being pick of the bunch.

In all fairness, as with all players who leave us in a better state than when he arrived and who always gave their all, I always want them to do well elsewhere. For this reason I hope he has a good spell at Millwall. But in some cases it seems players just find a club where everything clicks and they play easily the best football of their careers. We've seen genuine heroes leave us and never reach the same performance level (Cleveland Taylor; Paul Hayes; Andy Butler; Marcus Williams), so I wonder if Wooly will fall into this category...?”

“Good deal for Wooly. BC will be going down and are cutting wages now.

He was mostly a sub at BC. I saw him play recently in London though and he is still a headless chicken!! Still, he has a knack of getting a goal after coming on as a sub. Thats worth a few bob. He hasn't the stamina for 90 minutes.”

“Doubt they'll be any kind of sell-on clause worthy of note, the Bristol site is speculating the fee MIGHT only be six figures. Sounds like there fans are over-the-moon to be rid of him as well.

Millwall seem to be turning into a full team of ex-Iron's (Keogh; Trotter; Josh Wright; N'Guessan; Mildenhall (kind of)). With Woolford and Trotter in the side, they've got the guys that caused the most damage in the Play-Off Final (Trotter coming on in the second half changed the game). However its a slightly bitter to pill that both Wooly and Chris Taylor are going to be in the same side, since at least one of them should have been at Glanford Park this time two years ago......”
